Lee names The Lords of Salem as the Rob Zombie film to watch next. One speaker describes House of a Thousand Corpses as very stylised, with a washed-out, grainy and horrible look.
Adam says Zombie deliberately moved away from the style and feel of that film. Adam thinks a Munsters remake suits Zombie because he understands the fun, Halloween-carnival side of horror. Lee thinks he might be the person to do it, and Chris says he would get the style right.
In their own words
Lee I mean I'd go with Lords of Salem.
Ep 228 We have been watchingUnknown It reminds me so much of House of a Thousand Corpses and obviously this is where Rob Zombie has taken it from. But impressive that this is such a different film to that despite having similarities. But you know both films are very good in different ways. Yeah I think House of a Thousand Corpses obviously is very stylized and does look like a Rob Zombie and the thing that always gets me with this and no matter how many times I see it is just how horrible it looks. is The washed out graininess, all the shots are done at really weird angles and there's loads of like all that super close up stuff of Orion stuff just breaking out.
Texas Chainsaw MassacreAdam I do think it's a distinct, there's a distinct thing where I think Rob Zombie went deliberately away. From the style and sort of feel of House of a Thousand Corpses.
Ep 228 We have been watchingAdam Because the whole point of The Munsters is that they're a wholesome American family who just happen to be monsters and scare other people. But. Uh, I think, yeah, I think Rob Zombie might be it might be a good place for him to go. Because I think it's something I it's something he's familiar with, but also I think he might he understands the fun side of horror. Like that Halloweeny carnival party version of horror.
Ep 114 Abbott and Costello meet FrankensteinLee I mean, I I think it's again, it's one of those things that I don't know if it would work remaking it. So I've got reservations from the off, but if somebody could get it going. I think Rob Zombie might be the person to do it.
Ep 139 TriangleChris I imagine he could get the style, he would get a good style with it. I mean, certainly from what I've seen of him, he's definitely got the ability.
