LeeGood evening and welcome to Horror. I'm Lee.
AdamAnd I'm not Chris.
LeeNo, because you're here.
AdamYes.
JenniferI'm also not Chris, but for tonight, Matthew, I will be Jennifer.
AdamAnd I'm Adam as well.
LeeSo there's been a bit of a
JenniferOh no, don't call him out on the air.
LeeThere's been a massive fuck up.
JenniferHardly.
LeeI I couldn't watch Troll Hunter, so I apologise for the fact we're not covering Troll Hunter. That has been delayed by a fortnight. We'll be watching that for the next episode.
LeeSo the plan was we were going to do what we've been watching.
LeeSo on our little group chat that we have,
LeeI Adam suggested we do what we've been watching in the interim.
LeeAnd I Chris said he hadn't watched anything, so I said, well, there was no point
Leein
Jennifertipping.
LeeYeah, so Chris, so basically we turned up to record, Chris didn't turn up, we phoned him, he went, oh, I thought you weren't doing it, so I'm watching the football.
LeeUm, so Jennifer luckily has stepped in and saved the day.
JenniferYay!
AdamNo pressure.
JenniferYeah.
AdamDoes this does this not feel like something that has happened fairly often before, having to pick up for your brother's mistakes?
JenniferYeah, to be fair, I could list a few, but, you know, the listeners are not here for true horror, are they?
AdamNo.
JenniferOh.
LeeUm, yes, so we're here for a what we've been watching.
LeeUh, there'll be spoilers, there'll probably be more swearing.
LeeUm,
Leeand yeah, this is a bit on the hoof so we uh, yeah, apologies.
JenniferIs that on the hoof?
LeeHmm.
AdamOh.
JenniferOh.
LeeHoof hoof.
LeeRight.
LeeIt's tooth proof.
LeeAdam.
AdamYes.
Leeyou kick us off. What have you been watching?
AdamWell, I've actually been to the cinema, now.
LeeOh, shit.
AdamYou know,
AdamYeah, I know.
AdamI I it just happens. I've been.
AdamWow.
AdamUm and I actually saw a modern film that that was made like that came out this year.
AdamUh, I saw Backrooms.
LeeHey, any good?
AdamYes.
AdamActually, I was really sort of because
AdamI was I think I went in not necessarily because
AdamI was aware of the Creepy Pasta.
AdamI was aware that there was the videos on YouTube that were sort of like a few sort of
Adamyou know, little sort of mini films, like sort of shorts and stuff like that, you know.
AdamUm, but it wasn't something that I particularly was that aware of.
AdamSo I went in with a sort of caveat of, you know, could be good, could be bad, whatever.
AdamUm,
Adambut it's it was, um, it's A24, so you kind of you you sort of trust it, apart from, I don't know if you saw the thing the other week that A24 are, uh,
Adamworking with uh, working with Google to improve AI tools for filmmaking.
AdamWhich has caused something of a backlash of loads of including um, the director of the Backrooms came past and basically saying,
AdamNo, I don't want to do that because creating's the fun bit.
LeeYeah.
AdamYou know, So but regardless of where where where they are with that, it's, you know, it's a it's a name that you tend to trust.
AdamAnd, um, yeah, I was
AdamI was really impressed with it.
AdamThere was, um,
Adamso, as I say, it was Kane Parsons who's directed it, who also did like the short films online.
AdamHe's only 20, the bastard.
LeeWow.
AdamAnd, you know, already is sort of like, because that that was the genuine most horrific moment is
Adamwatching a good horror film directed by a 20-year-old and going, yes, I am an ancient old fart who's squandered everything that they've ever done.
AdamAnd I think it's an interesting sort of, I think his age is an interesting sort of part to it.
AdamIs that essentially the idea of you go into this other world where you are trapped with the detritus of the 20th century.
AdamKind of feels like what it must be like to wander around online at the age of 20 that you sort of like, why is there what what is the why are there of forums of people going, do you remember Thundercats?
JenniferOh.
AdamAnd, you know, sort of and just all all this crap and basically sort of like, yeah, there's there's a lot of awful things happening online and it's a lot of older people doing it who who are who are disappointed with their lives, you know.
AdamSo you can't help but feel that it's sort of but I mean, visually I think it was really good and,
Adamum,
Adamso the stars were, uh,
Adamuh, Renata Reinsve, who I'm not who's not someone I've been aware of before.
AdamAnd she plays a, um, like psychologist or a therapist who is dealing with one of her customers,
Adamum, who is played by Chetel Ejiofor, uh, who is
Adama fantastic fucking actor, I mean, he's
AdamThe thing I would really recommend people to go and seek out if they enjoy him in this is go and find The Shadow Line, which was a BBC drama from a few years back.
AdamAnd he he was like the he was the main character in it, but it had like Stephen Ray in it and Christopher Eccleston and Ray uh Spall and stuff like that.
AdamAnd they were just
Adamand a really good like throwback old sort of like, holy shit, you've got to watch this like, you know, this is not casual viewing, this is
Adamplots within plots and twists within twists and shit going down, like sort of about a criminal enterprise, but that's besides the point.
AdamBut uh, yeah.
AdamSo and he plays a uh, guy who runs a furniture store and obviously the original
AdamCreepy Pasta of the Backrooms was a picture of an old furniture store that had just had everything removed and someone took the picture and put it up as you can pass into the Backrooms and you are trapped in this dimension for you know, this weird dimension forever.
AdamAnd so they kind of play with that in that it's a man who runs
Adama furniture store then oddly discovers this passageway into this
Adamother dimension, this eerie space, you know, something that's, um,
Adamthat has terrible scary things in it.
AdamAnd and again, there's sort of stuff in there.
AdamLike it's there's sort of talk about there's it's like there's it parts parts of the Backroom are things that they're remembrances of people, but they're remembered poorly or remembered wrong.
AdamAnd it's like, and again, you you sort of feel, is that is that a dig at AI?
LeeYeah.
AdamBecause it's because it's like it'll be someone, but they've got a glitched face and they can't talk.
AdamAnd you're like, yeah, it's you kind of have got it right.
AdamBut you haven't quite got it right.
AdamIt's the same, you know, it's like, we can't do hands, you know.
AdamIt's like that.
AdamUm, but yeah, all in all, I think and very sort of atmospheric.
AdamI think towards the end they get a bit too a bit too explainy, if anything.
AdamI think that Not not in a bad way.
AdamBut I think that there I don't know whether it was a concern that they were like, is this going to be too esoteric, so we'll have a bit where someone is saying some of the rules and boundaries and things that go on in the rather than
Adamit naturally coming from you see people encounter things and work out the logic and stuff like that.
AdamUm,
Adambut I mean, certainly really, really worth a watch.
AdamAnd the end credit music was the new Boards of Canada album that had just come out the track off of there.
AdamSo, you know, immediately, I think it's like Sinister, you end with the Boards of Canada track and I think you're doing your job right probably.
AdamSo,
Adamyou know.
AdamUm, the one thing I would say is, and I've seen a few people complain about it.
AdamThere are people saying, oh, the backrooms, it's a liminal space.
AdamNo, it's not, a liminal space is a transition area or a boundary or a threshold.
AdamIt's not that the bit where you pass through the wall, that's the liminal space, but the rest of the Backrooms itself is just a whole other creepy ball game.
AdamBut yeah, and and it was just one of those things where
Adama bit like, you know, how there was sort of you wanted to go around the building in Squid Game.
LeeYeah.
AdamSame thing with this, I just wanted to go around the sets and sort of like to experience it because it just looks so
Adamodd and so sort of vivid.
AdamSo, yeah.
AdamBut um, no, a definite recommend.
AdamI think they're I think they're setting up to do more.
AdamUm,
JenniferOh, that was, yeah.
Adamwhether that was Yeah, I was like, yeah.
JenniferOh, just go next door, I'll be theatre.
AdamYeah, I think that's it.
AdamI think well presumably they'll have to do the front rooms, which will be the prequel.
AdamAnd then the side rooms and.
JenniferYeah. yeah.
AdamBut yeah, I mean, as as to whether it'll be diminishing returns or whether they'll sort of go with it you know, it will sort of add to it or whatever like that.
AdamBut,
Adamyeah, I think that it I think it could go somewhere, definitely.
AdamSo, yeah.
AdamDefinitely, uh, definitely worth a watch, definitely worth a watch.
LeeYeah, I think when that comes out on streaming, I think I'm definitely going to check that out because um,
Leeyeah, a few people have seen it now and I've heard nothing but good things about it.
LeeSo again, it was one of those I was like, it's it's a creepy pastor that's basically come from a single photograph, and I'm like, can you really stretch that out?
LeeBut yeah, everybody who I've spoken to who's seen it, said, yeah, no, they did a really good job of making it atmospheric and sinister, so.
AdamYeah, because I I'd like to say, because I think the guy that Kane Parsons who directed it had sort of done the YouTube things.
AdamBut again, you do worry because it's like five minutes of, you know, POV shaky cam versus
LeeOh, that.
Adama two-hour movie, you know, it it doesn't necessarily they don't necessarily pan out that well.
AdamBut uh, no, it did, it did, I think so.
JenniferFantastic.
JenniferGreat start.
LeeJennifer.
JenniferYeah.
LeeWhat have you been up to?
JenniferUm, yeah, so rather than watching,
JenniferI have been reading a book.
JenniferUm, which Adam and Claire very kindly bought me.
JenniferHmm, Christmas.
JenniferLonger ago than that.
AdamNo, I think I think it was Christmas.
JenniferYeah.
AdamBecause I think if I if I remember rightly, I had to because I think there was also I had to give you your birthday present at the same time as Christmas.
JenniferYes.
AdamSo, yes.
Adamone or the other, it was.
JenniferEither all.
JenniferBut uh, yeah, just picked it up last week, um, it's by Peter Laws.
JenniferUh, no relation, I assume, to Adam Laws.
AdamNot that I'm aware of.
AdamHe's.
JenniferUm, it's called The Frighteners.
JenniferAnd the the tag line, as it were, is why we love monsters, ghosts, death and gore.
JenniferUm, and it's uh, Peter Laws, who's an ordained reverend.
JenniferThat always makes it a little bit like, what's he doing being into scary stuff?
LeeYeah.
JenniferBut it's it's his sort of, you know, conversation through his life and his kind of, you know, going to Transylvania for a holiday because obsessed with horror and growing up and what he was obsessed with as kids.
JenniferMentions the um, what's it called the Dark and Stormy Waters.
LeeOh.
JenniferYeah.
LeeYeah.
JenniferYeah, that classic, you know, and the things that perhaps encouraged our generation I think that's why. Yeah. um, you know, to to like horror.
JenniferAnd then it goes into quite a lot of sort of psychological stuff.
JenniferKind of debates as to, you know, if we're kind of, you know, wrapping children nowadays in cotton wool.
JenniferAnd not letting them experience.
JenniferYou know, he says horror is a way of experiencing bad things.
JenniferBut in a safe environment.
JenniferSo actually if we're stopping children do that.
JenniferAre we not giving them those tools?
LeeThis is what we've been.
Jenniferwith, you know, the real world because unfortunately bad things do happen.
JenniferSo I say it's a really interesting sort of narrative on that.
JenniferUm, and say it covers, you know, serial killers, um, you know, scare rooms.
JenniferUm,
Jenniferall sorts of sort of ranges of different bits of horror, zombies, werewolves, you know.
JenniferAnd again, he goes to different places and talks to people that think they're werewolves.
JenniferOr think they're vampires.
JenniferSo it's a nice range of of stuff.
JenniferI'm not quite finished it yet.
JenniferBut yeah, definitely definitely worth a read, very interesting.
JenniferSo, yeah.
LeeExcellent.
AdamYeah, because he's the he's the horror movie, um,
Adamuh, like reviewer for For Times.
JenniferFor Times.
JenniferYes.
AdamYeah, so yeah, that's where I first sort of like encountered him, yeah.
JenniferYeah, no, he's got a good sort of narrative going on and, uh, yeah, lots of say interesting things and things that you sort of know of a bit and then he sort of puts his own views on it.
JenniferBut yeah, yeah, really interesting.
AdamOh, cool. Well, I'm glad you're enjoying it.
JenniferIndeed, you can borrow it after I've finished.
LeeUm, so we are on a multi-media one this time.
LeeUh, Adam watched the film.
JenniferJennifer's.
LeeJennifer read a book.
JenniferJulie's doing watch an interpretive dance routine, I know you love those things.
LeeI know, I I I struggled I I struggled to, uh, yeah, to draw myself away from interpretive dance to watch something.
LeeBut no.
LeeUm, so I've spent a lot of time recently with uh one Will McLean.
LeeUm, not directly with him, unfortunately.
LeeBut.
JenniferNo.
JenniferDon't don't embellish it.
LeeI am currently both reading his new book Solace House, uh, while listening to season two, which we've just finished of Broken Veil.
AdamYes.
LeeYou checked it out yet, Adam?
AdamYeah.
AdamSo Broken Vile, both actually, I finished I finished Solace House, um,
Adamcouple of weeks back now and uh, yeah, thoroughly fucking enjoyed that.
LeeYeah.
JenniferNot too many spoilers on the book, because I haven't had a chance yet.
JenniferBecause Lee has, you know, stolen it first.
LeeIt was my birthday present, to be fair.
JenniferYeah.
AdamYeah.
JenniferIt's stolen, used, as you should have done.
JenniferBut yeah, so, so, you know, talk about it with no spoilers.
JenniferOr I can step out of the room for spoilers.
LeeNo, no, because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it.
LeeI mean,
AdamExactly, yeah.
LeeIt's it's brilliant, it's really atmospheric, it's
LeeI love his the thing I loved about him with his first book as well, he's got such a good descriptive, like the way he describes things, I really enjoy, I think it's really nice.
LeeBut this is characters are the thing that gets me, all the characters he writes feel so real.
LeeAnd so.
LeeLike everybody knows that person, everyone knows the posh twat who's, you know, just who hangs out with all the all the, you know, those of us who are of a lower class and all, and those who don't have to live like that, but do just because they want to be a.
JenniferYou, darling.
LeeBasically, yeah.
AdamIt's it's common people by Paul.
LeeExactly, exactly that.
LeeUm, but yeah, and and you know, as well as the person who wants to be weird and isn't like he his characters are just incredible.
LeeHe makes them so embedded.
AdamHis first book of course being uh the Apparition Phase.
AdamWhich you recommended to me and again that was a that's a belter as well.
LeeI've just bought that again for another friend of mine who hadn't read it.
LeeUm, because I mentioned I said, oh, I had this book and it was so amazing, I've lent it to all of my friends.
LeeAnd he looked at me so brokenhearted and you went, you never lent it to me.
LeeI was like, I hadn't seen you for six months, so next time I saw him, I had to buy a copy for him to make up for it.
LeeUm,
Leebut yeah, so Solace House is great.
LeeBut yeah, so Broken Vale season two.
LeeUm, I
LeeI went in with low expectations because
Leethe first season was so amazing, it felt like they'd wrapped that story up.
LeeSo I was like, they're going to do something completely different, completely stand alone, uh, and I'd be surprised if they could do anything as good again because, as I've said, that blew me away so, so fucking.
JenniferPlus I kind of think part of that was not quite knowing how real it was or not.
JenniferYou kind of.
JenniferYou're a bit like, are they just going out and doing this for real? So I guess once that was over, you sort of realized, so I wondered if this one would work in the same way or not.
LeeUm, I I felt it was.
LeeIt was as good as the first season.
LeeIt was so, so good.
Leedifferent enough.
LeeTo not feel like they're just rehash what they did the first time, but it's it's set in the same world.
LeeAnd it had that same thing as well.
LeeOf you'd have long periods of what not mundane, but like very real feeling, we did this, we did this, we did that and then every now and again something so surreal and fucked up had just landed on it.
LeeIt's coming and just shatter it all, and it was just brilliantly put together.
LeeFantastically acted.
LeeI loved the soundscapes and everything they put in there.
LeeUm,
LeeOh, it was just it was an absolute.
LeeWe sat outside in the garden, listened to it on an like sat outside, eating and drinking with a
Leean outdoor speaker, and it was still creepy in 30 degree heat in the garden.
LeeIt was still managed to be.
AdamIt's
AdamIt is.
AdamIt is impressive.
AdamI mean, that's the thing is I'm listening to it I was listening to it on the way into um like just in the car on the way to work.
AdamAnd none more mundane journey can you have, but it was like, you know, but it was
Adamand once again, it was back to, because obviously you guys have sort of binged it.
AdamI was listening to it as they released and, oh,
Adamfuck me, was it a long week?
JenniferOh.
LeeOh.
AdamYou know.
Adamtrying to sort of keep, you know, keeping it sort of doing it because there was there was no way I could wait to the end because I was too desperate to hear it.
AdamUm, but yeah, that that sort of and especially there was one week where they, um,
AdamI can't remember, I think it was actually because of the release of Solace House and Will McLean was doing a lot of publicity for it and they put out just like a little they put out like a little couple of minute message.
AdamUm, just to say, um, we tweak and edit the episodes basically up to the point of release.
LeeWow.
AdamWe aren't going to have the opportunity to do that this week because Will's doing the um like publicity for the book.
AdamSo there was a week where it got delayed.
JenniferOh.
Adamwithout without notice.
LeeI would have.
LeeOh.
LeeShit.
LeeOh God.
AdamOh man.
JenniferOh, sitting the, you know, the tension and the build up.
AdamYeah.
AdamYeah.
AdamIt was really, yeah.
AdamI think that that was a that was a particularly disappointing day, it has to be said.
JenniferThat old nineties thing of waiting for an episode, you know, you don't really get that anymore, do you? So that's quite a nice retro feel of things.
AdamSee, I tried to do it with, um, uh, I don't know.
AdamDid you watch, um, oh fuck, what was it called? Small Profits.
JenniferYes.
AdamYes.
LeeYeah.
AdamI watched that weekly, because I wanted to do it that way.
AdamRather than do because I know they released it all as a thing and actually, thinking about it, I don't know, I don't think we've mentioned that on the thing.
AdamBut.
AdamYeah, I mean, what did you guys think of that?
AdamBecause.
LeeOh.
JenniferOh, brilliant.
LeeOh.
AdamOh, yeah.
JenniferYeah.
AdamReally, really loved that.
JenniferReally, really good.
LeeIt was tugging, it was creepy, it was so funny.
JenniferYeah.
JenniferYeah.
AdamYeah.
LeeYeah.
LeeJust great.
LeeYeah, just great.
AdamOh, right.
AdamMichael Palin as his dad was fucking incredible.
AdamI I'm really annoyed because obviously I didn't write anything down on that.
AdamBut the the main guy, um, who I had seen in The Detectorists and also he was in an episode of 15 Stories High, Sean Lock's sitcom.
LeeYeah, I remember.
LeeOh, yeah.
AdamAnd he played a vicar who basically Sean Lock's character had smashed up a uh the local churchyard by accident and then the vicar the vicar knew it was him from CCTV and he said, well, I'll let you off if you come out for a drink with me.
LeeOh.
AdamAnd then just proceeded to be the most nightmare person to go for a fucking drink with and it was just the it was just the one bit where he said, it's not me, he's going to hell, is it?
AdamNo, it's not me who's going to be sitting in a lake of turds and wasps.
JenniferAh.
AdamAnd yeah.
AdamAnd I just
AdamI love I love I loved and I loved him and his co-worker's relationship.
AdamI thought that was
LeeYeah.
Adamfucking brilliant, especially these days because the trouble is, is there's a Dr. Who fan and it's like, oh, here we go, the companion fancies the doctor, the doctor fancies the companion.
AdamAnd it's like,
AdamNo.
JenniferOh, that's all.
AdamThis is people can have people can be mates.
AdamAnd do you know what I mean? It was just so fucking well done.
AdamAnyway, but yeah.
AdamBut yeah, with with with Broken Veil, I was sort of like, because the first coup I think the first two episodes, I was like,
Adamcuz obviously I was having those.
AdamWeeks in between to sort of mull over and stuff like that.
AdamAnd I was like, have they gone too far in trying to not.
JenniferYeah, not.
Adamrepeat themselves.
AdamWhich,
Adamlet's face it, there was no way you could do that again because it's it was very much one of its one of a kind sort of thing, but also I don't think they would want to do that.
LeeNo.
AdamYou know, I think they've I think they're too sort of.
LeeCreative.
AdamTheir quality control is just too high that they would want to do that.
AdamSo but I was kind of like, oh, you're trying yourselves up in not trying to not do that.
AdamWhich in effect became part of the plot.
LeeYeah.
JenniferYeah.
AdamBecause it was them saying, look, oh, are we are we making the mistake because they, you know, it was in in there that they were deliberately not trying to follow the same path again.
AdamAnd,
Adamyou know.
AdamAnd by the time you got to that.
AdamI mean, again, no spoilers.
AdamAlthough it has been if you get in quick, if you don't want because obviously we could only you can only listen to it if you're a subscriber.
AdamUh like Patreon subscriber.
AdamUh if people get in quick now, uh, I think for the next two weeks or something, it was announced the other day.
AdamUm, you can buy the series as a one-off, like the download the series as a one-off payment, so you don't have to be a Patreon to hear it.
AdamI think they've got like a, yeah, I think they've got like a two-week window, so get in quick if you want to do it that way.
AdamI mean, for me, I've I've been really enjoying comfort.
Adamdiscomfort blanket.
LeeThis is why I signed up because obviously I wanted to do that.
LeeBut yeah, discomfort blanket, I definitely want to work my way through, so I'm going to stick with the Patreon for until I've cleared those really.
AdamYeah.
AdamUm, but but yeah, no, and that's sort of that ending, the way they left it, I'm now like, you know, it's like, oh shit, this isn't a week now.
AdamThis is when you've made when by the time you get round to doing series three, so, you know, um,
Adambut yeah, I'm yeah.
AdamAnd um, funnily enough, arrived yesterday, they released the soundtrack as a limited edition CD.
LeeOh, I thought you'd be all over that.
LeeYeah.
AdamYeah, so yeah.
AdamSo that arrived uh, that arrived.
AdamYes, it's been a very good week for magical recordings, there was Luke Hayes's Isy Wizzy, let's get busy, which is all about how children's television in the eighties was a subversive way of introducing magic to children.
JenniferAh.
Adamvia worms and garbage and sutty.
AdamAnd,
Adamum, and also English Heretics album came out.
AdamWhich is their first like Andy's first one for.
Adama few years now.
AdamUh, and again,
Adamtop notch stuff.
AdamSo it's been a it's very.
AdamVery haunted.
Adamuh haunted audio week or so.
JenniferEven Halloween.
AdamYeah.
JenniferSummer we apparently.
AdamYeah.
LeeOh, yeah.
LeeCool.
LeeUm, yes, so, Adam.
LeeWhat was your next uh venture into horror?
AdamUh, well, in a in a weird moment,
Adam I'd rewatched uh I rewatched This Is Ginsey, and, um,
Adamwhich has its own sort of elements towards that.
AdamUm, but that prompted a, well, what prompted for Father's Day, I received the Blu-ray of Psychoville because I had to upgrade Psychoville.
JenniferOh.
JenniferI didn't know Ted had his own, uh, you know, account yet for Psychoville, but well done.
AdamI think there was a certain level of guidance.
JenniferOh.
AdamBecause there was There was a certain disparity.
AdamBecause I received.
JenniferWhat was daddy like?
JenniferThinks are Psychoville in the title.
AdamWell, bless well, actually, I found out that Psychoville is actually the is the name the League of Gentlemen got called in Japan when it broadcast over there.
LeeOh, really?
AdamSo I can only assume that if Psychoville went over there, was it called Inside Number Nine?
LeeYeah.
AdamOr did they or was it the opposite way around they just called that the League of Gentlemen and just you know, we'll it'll write itself somewhere.
AdamBut yeah, rewatching Psychoville obviously Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton's uh sort of it's their Filthy Rich and Cat Flap, it's what happens between uh League of Gentlemen and um Inside Number Nine.
AdamAnd the sort of dark thriller.
AdamAnd again, watching that, I was reminded of watching it the first time around.
AdamAnd actually it was it really did the job of getting you intrigued in the mystery.
AdamAnd in the sort of not just the jokes and not just the sort of characters.
AdamUm, and but moved away from that sort of thing because obviously the league is essentially a sketch show.
AdamUm, but yeah, Psychoville they sort of actually have a proper throughput narrative.
AdamAnd it was just having forgotten quite how brilliant it is.
AdamIt's.
AdamIt's so funny and so bizarre.
AdamAnd and I mean such a such an it was it was such a natural extension.
AdamFrom the League of Gentlemen, but then they obviously brought in so many fucking great names.
AdamBecause obviously you got like Dawn French in there, Daniel Kaluuya, which was the first thing I ever saw Daniel Kaluuya in.
LeeAnd me.
LeeAnd he's he again.
LeeAlthough he's a small part, like he's such a stand-out actor in it.
AdamYeah.
AdamHe is.
AdamHe is integral, him and Steve Pemberton's double act.
AdamAs Lomax and T-Leaf is like one of the highlights of the show, you know.
AdamUm,
Adamand yeah, like Jason Tomkins.
AdamAileen Atkins, Adrian Scarbra, Christopher Biggins, uh, Daisy Haggard and um, David Bamber, and then the second series around the like Mark Boner comes in and Jason Watkins and Imelda Staunton and all these sort of like fucking huge names.
AdamAnd it's really sort of, and,
Adamuh, Claire very much like me loves a commentary, so we rewatched all.
AdamWe watched it all, then we rewatched with all the commentaries.
AdamAnd everything else.
AdamLike.
AdamThe insides.
AdamBut it was just sort of things like.
Adamsitting there because Claire I think Claire had only watched it watched it the once and she only saw it after it was on.
AdamBecause basically we got together and that's when she started watching League of Gentlemen.
Jenniferwatching all the things.
AdamYeah.
AdamAnd it was it pretty much was, yeah.
JenniferYou sat down.
JenniferIn a room like not just for orange, didn't you, the eyes strapped over, you watched all of these things and then he still want to marry me.
JenniferAnd, you know, it worked out.
AdamAnd I think that's a perfectly acceptable way of.
Jenniferof finding a mate.
JenniferYeah, absolutely.
AdamYeah, and um, but she yeah, so um,
Adamso I think again it was like watching it and going, oh yeah, Christ, I remember sitting there going, what the fuck is the psychic the uh, Silent Singer?
LeeYeah.
AdamAnd all these sort of bits and pieces that you were sort of like, you know, again, it's a lot there was a lot in there.
AdamAnd,
Adamat some point, we do need to do the Halloween special.
AdamFor Halloween.
JenniferOh, yeah.
LeeOh, yeah.
LeeWe definitely do.
AdamBecause it does weirdly enough, watching it again, I was like, because it's standalone to the actual series because it's kind of like a bubble within the series.
AdamYou don't need to have watched series one.
AdamAnd apart from the last five minutes of the the Halloween special, we just go,
Adamoh, I presume that goes into the next series then, does it?
AdamApart from that it all works within itself.
AdamSo you can watch it.
Adamisolation.
AdamSo, yeah.
LeeYeah.

LeeSo.
LeeThanks ever so much for listening, everybody.
LeeUh, sorry about the chaos.
