LeeGood evening and welcome to Horror. I'm Lee.
ChrisI'm Chris.
AdamI'm Adam.
LeeAnd we're here this evening as promised to cover uh Sam Raimi's amazing Drag Me to Hell, which, I'm going to say right off the bat, I haven't watched.
ChrisOh, bad boy.
LeeI've seen it, but Adam has fainted.
AdamYeah, I've I've never known the like of which before ever in my life, sir.
LeeWell normally, I watch it the night before, but I decided this evening, I was today I was going to watch it late afternoon.
Leeit just ahead of the podcast.
LeeUh, I got wrapped up in stuff and I was like, right, it's an hour and 45 minutes, it's, you know, we we're recording in two hours, I'll put it on now.
LeeWent and got the Blu-ray, which apparently I've never used before, because it's been sitting on my shelf since I bought it, because I love the film, uh and it doesn't work, it's a dud disc.
LeeSo uh and it isn't on Netflix and...
AdamNo.
LeeI was like, well, what the fuck do I do now?
LeeUm, so what I've done is what South Park instead.
AdamYes.
ChrisClose.
LeeYeah, it's fine. I'll I've seen the film probably four or five times, so uh...
LeeI should be good, I'll remember it, yeah.
AdamNot only that, but also we and we saw it at the cinema.
ChrisMm.
AdamWhich is actually, yeah, I I would be interested to try and look back through about how many I've actually I actually saw it when they came out. Because I can't I can't imagine there's actually that many, either because of age, my age, or when it was made, or yeah, actually because it got a commercial release, or an easy to find commercial release.
LeeNo. Yeah.
LeeYeah. See, and I've got to admit, I'm not a big cinema-goer, um, because I just find...
LeeLook, it used to be fine, and I'm not going to get on a rant here, but when you when the cinemas used to employ ushers, it was great.
LeeYou could go, you could sit down, you could watch the film without...
ChrisWait, wait, is this another Lee hates people?
LeeYeah, yeah, people are fucking.
AdamYeah, but yeah, but fair enough, in a cinema it fucking breeds it.
ChrisYeah.
LeeWell, how many times... It's like public transport, you start to think, yeah, no.
AdamFuck 'em.
LeeLike it's and and like I get it, if you're sitting at home watching a film with people and you chat and you have a laugh, whatever, but in the cinema, you don't do that. I'm there, I want to focus on this, I want to pay attention. I don't want to be looking at somebody else's phone because it's glaring, and I don't want to hear their conversation, and I don't want to have to try and focus because they're eating 25 bags of crisps one after the other, like the woman in Deadpool.
ChrisSo this is why you built a cinema room in your house and Jennifer better be careful.
LeePrecisely. Yes, yeah, exactly that.
LeeUh, so yeah, so I don't go to the cinema, right.
LeeI say it's a shame because I and that's why I like going to places like the Prince Charles, where it's an audience participation thing, you know, it's a film you've all seen 100 times before, and you all know the lines, and everyone has a laugh, and it's, you know, it's it's an atmosphere.
AdamOr you get that other thing that you do get if you go to Prince Charles or like the Curzon and stuff like that, where everyone's there to genuinely see the film.
