Adam prefers early Tim Burton to the later twee Burton, while Lee calls Sleepy Hollow an absolute genius piece of work.

Adam notes how much Burton likes German expressionism, and he enjoys Batman Returns as Burton's Christmas movie.
In their own words
Lee And we are here this evening in the run-up to Halloween to discuss the uh, yeah, I don't want to give, you know, play my cards too soon or whatever, but the absolute genius piece of work in my honest opinion that is Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow. Um, but ahead of that, Chris.
96 Sleepy HollowAdam I think it's also it comes from that lovely point where Tim Burton hadn't gone twee. Do you know what I mean? Where it was like, oh no, it's a twisted fairy tale rather than just a fairy tale.
Ep 129 Evil Dead IIAdam Well, I mean, I think it's just that gothic aesthetic, isn't it? You know, it's just sort of kind of, but there were lots of, when I saw it, there were lots of like young adults in in the room. And I was kind of pleased because I was almost it was almost like yes, come and see this. This is proper Gothic, not that Tim Burton sort of flowery bullshit, you know, this is this is proper Gothic, you know.
Ep 215 We have been watchingAdam I've also got to say one one thing to mention with obviously Max Shreck and because as as our next film will attest how much Tim Burton really likes German expressionism. But Max Shreck is Christopher Walken's character in Batman Returns. That's why he's called Max Shreck.
Ep 185 NosferatuAdam Or does it just happen to be? No, that movie could have been set any time. But it was set during Christmas because Tim Burton's like, I'm going to make my Christmas movie. And it's Batman and the Penguin's running for mayor and killing kids. It's great.
