Ari Aster

Adam says the shorts are all on YouTube and all worth a watch, though he would steer Lee clear of the first. Chris says Aster could certainly build to a bleak end, and that not knowing where the film was going was possibly a good thing. Adam was pleased that Aster wants to make a horror comedy, but not by the idea of a 4-hour one.

• Adam That one's definitely not for the faint-hearted. You get, you get, get the, the Ari Aster sort of uncomfortableness, but frankly it makes 'Hereditary' and 'Midsommar', uh, walk in the park. Because you only have to deal with supernatural horrors and occult and a suicide. Whereas this is a bit more mundane, but, but really.

• Chris Yeah, very nice. Um. No, I I did mention to Adam just before we started, I'll say again now that I knew it was Ari Aster, so I had that in my mind, I knew that it was not a comedy. So I was like, that's it, that's fine, we're settling in, this is going to be good. But as it was unfolding, I was like, ah, no, I don't actually know what film Ari Aster did that we watched. And of course, you know, he's going on, and in in a way, possibly that was good. Because I did have the surprise where it's like, I don't know where this is going.
